Todays experiment..Illustration Friday 'Propagate'

I spent most of today trying out a combination of different styles in one piece..it's for Illustration Friday's word of the week 'Propagate'.I wouldn't say I like the outcome as a whole but theres definatly bits that I like...such as the mug and the flip flops... and the birds..I also like the sunshine background and the flowers and pots...Okay so I like the individual parts of this image but not the whole..! It was a fun experiment though and I learnt something about what I like and dislike so thats all that matters! ;-)

Triangle animals

Here are some rough drawings/collages that I put together recently..I think these creatures could make quite good characters..I prefer the rabbit and the fox as the style is slightly more realistic then the bird and the giraffe...however I do really like how mad the bird looks! It'd be nice to do a whole series of different birds using this triangle/collage style.

seagulls and patterns

Here's a little something I've been playing around with...I really liked the way I drew the sea in the seagull image...so i'm playing around with that pattern..In the two pattern images i've used colour combination that I've been drawn to recently..the colours in the black pattern image were inspired by a head scarf I saw on an elderly lady on the bus the other day! At times like that I wish I could photograph the person so that I remember every detail...but then I guess the bits that you forget are also important; as you then remake the image up in your own mind...creating something new...

Lovely Moose

I drew this moose last night...I'm enjoying the pen and ink work I'm doing..it's great that I can do it anywhere without having all my paints etc..I drew this at work last night and I also did some bird of paradise drawings that I want to pop into some patterns I'm thinking about..so from sleepy me here's a lovely moose! Drawing/collage then background done in photoshop.

Monday Artday

The topic for last week was 'Candy'..I didn't finish it in time to get in...and I still haven't finished it really as it doesn't feel right..needs more background and maybe a darker bunny...but here it is...tired and need to stop for today!



By the way...it's the Easter Bunny doing a stock take....got to be organized!! :-)

Monday Artday

I recently came across the blog 'Monday Artday'..it's like the Illustration Friday blog where theres a different word to illustrate each week and you can post your illustration on the blog. Anyway Monday Artday's word at the moment is 'Train', I started two different illustrations for this and have just finished one of them..Okay so here is a girl dreaming about deers on a train, I think they're going on holiday and on the duvet their deer friends are waving them off!! Who knows how I came up with this it just stemmed from a doodle I did! :-) My other illustration is almost finished and I'll post that soon too..

Focused - illustrations fridays topic for last week

I didn't get this done in time to post it on Illustration Friday last week, but here it is anyway. The word of the week was 'Focused'. This cyclist needs to get pretty focused if shes to reach her dreams...that's one big hill that she needs to ride up..go girl!
