All I've done so far today is draw this whilst talking to various people on the phone! I'm going to start putting these sketchbook pages up on the blog as well as final work..Now time to get going with some real work! Although I do like the bunnies, I'd like to draw a page full of moving rabbits!!I've been looking into traditional welsh wool blanket patterns lately, the patterns in this image are based loosely on a pattern I came across.

CLumSY part2
Here is my second attempt at illustrating the word of the week 'clumsy'...The word made me think of baby animals with long legs...I thought about drawing a foal but I think baby Giraffe's are definitely the clumsiest looking! I drew the giraffe's and then colored them in using gouache paint. The background is a collage put together using thread, buttons, fabric and paper..It was fun to work this way and I think I'll be doing more..I'm wondering about using this style for my Little Red Riding Hood project....hmmm I think that could work quite well!
CLumSY part 1!
Illustration Fridays topic for this week is 'clumsy' I'm working on two different illustrations for this one. I've just finished the first image, this illustrates something I seem to do often! And isn't it always your favorite mug/bowl/plate etc?! I added in the Boston terrier as I'm pretty obsessed with them at the moment, there so cute! So here we go...

Another image reworked
An old image reworked
I've spent some time today reworking an old image, it's an image that I used to look at and although it was nice it just didn't make sense, the parts didn't seem to fit... So anyway I've been playing around today and I think I've got it right now! So here it is, it's based on images from a camping trip I took with some friends whilst in Devon last year...We had such a fun time and I can't wait to do it again when the weather gets warmer.
I especially love the flowers in this image, I spent quite a lot of time on the flowers working on them in photoshop after I'd scanned the painting in. Feels nice to get something finished..this piece has been bugging me for a while!

Little Red Riding Hood
During the Illustration course I took last term I started a project to illustrate the story Little Red Riding Hood. I started exploring the characters but didn't get round to finishing any final images. I've decided to carry on this project over the next few months, here are two ideas for the characters of Red Riding hood and the Wolf..I'll add more images for this project as I progress..Poor Red Riding hood looks pretty petrified in this image! I've got lots to work on!
When you don't know what to draw..just draw anything!
When you don't know what to draw just draw anything! Thats what I've been told many times by many of my art teachers.I've been in a bit of a pickle lately not really feeling like I have the energy to put into drawing, life drains it out of you sometimes! So I sat down today with a few hours to spare and drew and painted a picture of my teapot. It did the job, and I feel ready to get going again now...thanks teapot!
